When you’re craving a little something sweet but don’t want to completely derail all the hard work you’ve put in both in the kitchen and the gym, look no further than this healthy fudge recipe, my friend.

Originally created by “accident” in the 1800s, fudge was allegedly supposed to be caramels, but when the chef accidentally fouled up the recipe and exclaimed “oh fudge,” fudge was born.

Traditional fudge recipes are made with sugar, butter, and milk or cream. However, fudge recipes have evolved and often substitute sweetened condensed milk, marshmallow creme, or other ingredients for the milk/cream to better guarantee a more perfect fudge-like texture.

Healthy Fudge Recipe Rich with Protein

Coming in a variety of flavors, with milk chocolate being the most popular, followed by peanut butter, I decided to combine the best of both worlds. And what better way to do that than with low carb protein blend in chocolate peanut butter flavor.

Our Low Carb Protein blend is made with natural ingredients, so I also wanted to use natural ingredients in my recipe to keep it both lower in carbs and more healthful. Additionally, we only use the finest natural ingredients to flavor our products. Cocoa and partially defatted peanut flour made from freshly roasted peanuts grown in the United States combine to give Chocolate Peanut Butter BioTrust Low Carb its delicious flavor.

Why Whey Protein is King

When it comes to protein quality and reaping the benefits of protein, whey is the top choice. It is easily digested and rapidly absorbed, and it is the most concentrated source of essential amino acids, including leucine, which is super important for muscle recovery and growth. Not surprisingly, research shows whey protein helps promote muscle repair and recovery after exercise. Along those lines, regular supplementation with whey protein (particularly when it’s combined with resistance training) provides support for:

  • Building lean muscle
  • Recovering from exercise
  • Improving strength
  • Healthy muscle function

Adding this to your favorite recipe, like this decadent and silky fudge, and you are packing a protein punch like no other.

With its thick, smooth, creamy consistency and great-tasting, “fast” and “slow” release blend of four proteins, BioTRUST Low Carb protein powder provides nutritional support that promotes feeling full longer, healthy appetite management, and sustained results when combined with a healthy diet and regular exercise.

And this healthy fudge recipe includes 4 servings of low carb protein blend, divided among the 16 pieces of fudge to yields a whopping 8 grams of quality protein per serving. Score!
